What OT security measures does IT common sense not apply?

*Japanese only

Presented byTXOne Networks Japan GK

Industrial control systems in factories and other facilities are rapidly evolving through the use of IT technologies and networks to improve productivity and competitiveness. The evolution of closed factory networks, which used to be known as the "closed network myth," has given rise to communication paths and data flows that did not exist in the past. OT (Operational Technology) domains have different characteristics from IT domains, such as "many out-of-support OSs are running," "regular patching is difficult," "networks are not segmented properly," etc., and security measures must be taken in consideration of these characteristics. Security measures are required based on these characteristics. In this session, practical examples and key points of security countermeasures for OT domain where common sense of IT does not apply will be explained.
