Keynote

Virtualizing the network for the 5G experience

On October 1st 2018, Verizon became the first operator in the world to provide a commercial 5G service at speeds that were 20x faster than current 4G LTE speeds. Six months later, the company turned on the switch for the first commercial 5G mobile service with a 5G-enabled smartphone that tested above 1 gigabit per second.

There's no doubt that 5G technology will bring radical improvements in network speed, capacity, latency and performance. In the coming years, the increase in 5G-driven digital transformation (DX) use cases will enable the rise of the real-time enterprise.

In her keynote, Verizon’s Helen Wong will discuss how businesses need to prepare for the 5G-era. In addition, Helen will outline steps to future-proofing businesses through software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) technologies.
