With the first global deployments of 5G already under way, it is apparent that the diverse use cases of 5G will require a significant change in the network architecture used to deliver it. This ranges from functional splits in the RAN, control and user plane separation, edge clouds and network slicing. In this presentation, we will outline how these changes impact the underlying IP and optical networks and how Nokia’s Anyhaul and Cloud Packet Core solutions address these changes.
